Second Chance Baby Page 11
His massive cock sprung out at me as the boxers released their containment, and I let my tongue slide along one side of it. The groan from above spoke of his pleasure, and I grinned as I reached the head. Slipping my tongue below and closing my mouth around the head, I gathered up the sweet fluid and took it into me. Then, steeling myself for just a moment, I plunged forward, taking as much of him as I dared down my throat. The head ticked the back, and I nearly choked on him and then slid him back out again. My fingers closed around his shaft and stroked him toward me as I looked up to see his eyes open, staring down at me in a mixture of desire and wonder. Want and patience. Need and determination. He wanted to savor every second of my tongue on his cock, but I could see the simmering fire behind his eyes. Like me, I assumed he was at war with himself as to let me continue to service him, to worship him with my mouth, or to bend me over and fuck me until we both came.
I took him into my mouth again, wanting to hear that moan of pleasure, to fill my mind with it so it blocked out everything else. When it rumbled through his body, I could feel the vibration on my tongue, and I moaned back. Cupping his balls underneath with my free hand, I worked him until his rod was as thick and stiff as steel. Clasping me by my shoulders, he pulled me away and pushed me back down to the bed. I went happily, my legs opening to invite him inside. But instead of pulling my thighs close and driving into me, he knelt, and I barely had time to register what he was doing before an explosion of sensation enraptured me.
His tongue slid through my folds, finding my clit effortlessly, and I cried out in surprise and pleasure. A long finger circled my opening, and I rested my thighs on his shoulders, squeezing them around his head as the sensation ranged from ticklish to overwhelming. He slid his finger deep into me, curling up to brush against my upper wall as his tongue encouraged my clit out from its hood. As he teased and swirled around my pearl, the pad of his fingertip brushed the inside of my pussy, and I felt myself tumbling beyond reality. A powerful orgasm, fast and explosive, took control of me and rocketed me into a shaking climax.
As I roiled under his grip, he lapped me up and then stood suddenly. Without hesitation, he plunged into me, and my abs contracted, and my breath left me. His thick, long cock dove deep inside me, stretching me and pushing so far inside me that I thought I might burst. I grasped onto his wide, chiseled arms and clenched as my body pulsed around him. As my pussy struggled to meld around him, to make room for him and give him space inside me, I cried out in pleasure. He was so big and hard that I needed a moment of him standing still to even catch my breath.
When I did, he slowly slid back, rocking into me in measured but insistent movements. I relaxed, lying back again as my body adjusted, and let my eyes shut so I could concentrate on the sensation. He filled me so completely that it lit up areas of my body that had long lain dormant. I felt my eyes flutter open, but they were rolled back as my brain short-circuited around the pleasure of the moment. When I finally gained some measure of control again, I looked up into his strained face. He was taking it slow, making sure I was ready for him. When I finally seemed like I was, he would speed up and go harder. I knew it was torture for him to wait.
“Mason,” I whispered in a hoarse breath. “Harder.”
A grin spread across his face.
“Harder,” I said, louder this time, more insistent.
Needing no further instruction, he gripped my thighs with his hands and flung them up so my ankles rested on his shoulders. Wrapping fingers around my waist and pulling me toward the edge of the bed, he rested one knee on the mattress beside it. I braced myself as he plunged deeper into me and reared back again. My voice caught in my throat as he began to slam into me, fucking me with an increasing hunger, a need for release.
I felt the oncoming climax this time, building tension deep in my core. While the first was powerful and quick, a blast of sensation, this was a wave. Heavy and slow, but unstoppable. With every thrust I was brought closer. I pushed my elbows into the bed and sat up as best I could, pressing my lips into his. He fucked me faster, his cock hammering into my wet, pulsing pussy. Finally, a roar began deep in his belly, and the wave began to crest, to crash down over me.
“Yes,” I called out to him, our lips just inches from each other. “Please, come with me.”
His eyes shut tight, and his cock slammed into me harder. My head fell back as the wave crashed around me and sent my body through spirals and spirals of ecstasy as he came hard. His body pulsed and shook as he exploded into me, and my pussy squeezed him until he was dry, crumbling into my arms and spent.

I might not have stopped smiling in the last two months. If I wasn’t eating, drinking, or sleeping, I was smiling. And I was certain I was smiling while I was sleeping, too. Actually, a correction to that. In addition to eating, drinking, and sleeping, sometimes my mouth was occupied with kissing Ava. Which just started all that smiling up all over again.
It wasn’t a terrible state of existence. In fact, I was feeling great. I was happier and feeling better about life than I had in as long as I could remember. Probably since before Ava left. After our first date having lunch together at our old favorite restaurant, we were inseparable.
When I first asked her out again, I told myself to be patient. This might take a while. Each of us needed our time to get accustomed to the other one again, and to figure out how we could work together as a couple in this new place in our lives. After all, we weren’t kids anymore. We were adults with years of life behind us, new challenges, and new priorities.
Except, it didn’t work out like that. We tumbled right back into each other. And even with all that life behind us, we were able to find each other again without any struggle. I couldn’t have been happier about that.
It was far more than I expected. If anyone had asked me just three months ago if I thought Ava and I would ever be reunited, I would have told them they were crazy. It never seemed like a possibility. At least, not after all the years that passed since she left. There was a time right after we broke up and she left town when I couldn’t imagine that she wouldn’t come back, and we wouldn’t get back together.
She was everything to me. She had been since I was old enough to think about her that way. The thought of us not sharing our lives just didn’t process for me. For a long time, I waited for her. I tried to prepare myself for what it would be like when she came back. Even going so far as to read about how I could help her cope with what she was going through after losing the baby.
But she just never came back. I waited and I waited. It took a long time for me to finally come to terms with the reality that the life I had imagined with Ava wasn’t going to happen. We weren’t going to get married and settle down and raise a family right here where we’d been raised. I forced myself to accept that and told myself to move on.
Only, I never really did. I didn’t think about her as much, and there were times when I even thought I was over her and didn’t even miss her anymore. And yet I still never dated anyone else. I never even considered a relationship with anyone else. I just blocked that entire part of my life out of my mind.
Until Ava came back. Then I was very much aware of that part of my life all over again. But I still wouldn’t let myself think there could be any chance we would be back together again. Definitely not so soon. Yet for the last two months, I had been taking her to work every day, then taking her home every night.
It didn’t feel at all forced or rushed. It was completely natural and easy, almost like we were just picking right back up where we left off. Just in a much better place emotionally. It might not have been what I expected to happen when she came strolling into the bar that day for her interview, but I wasn’t going to question it. I was finally happy, and she was at the center of it all.
The theme nights continued to prove popular. In fact, some of them drew such huge crowds, we had to turn people away and do two nights of the same theme in one week to accommodate everybody. It was an inc
redible thing to see, and every time we pulled it off, I was more impressed.
Tonight was no exception. We’d decided to hold off on doing Ava’s idea for a classic-car night so we could do it right. That meant a lot of preparations, cooperation from the city, and networking with other businesses around The Hollow.
But, finally, it had all come to fruition, and it was finally the night when we could see the results of all the hard work. Several hours before the event was to begin, city workers came to the street to shut down part of the road to create space for the classic cars to be parked. Having the area closed off made it easier for people to move around, admiring the cars and going from place to place. This was particularly important because a few neighborhood bars and restaurants were in on the theme night as well.
Rather than just showing up at the Hollow, people wanting to come to the event had to go to a central check-in location. Jesse and Tyler waited there how to sell tickets to the event. Once people had their colored wristbands that indicated what level of access they’d purchased, they were allowed onto the closed road. They could then jump in on the bar crawl that included several other bars serving special themed cocktails, restaurants with tasting menus, and other locations offering snacks, treats, and merchandising.
The entire thing had a carnival atmosphere about it, and I was amazed that Ava had been able to pull it off. I shouldn’t have been. By that point, I was well aware she was incredible and could pull off anything she set her mind to. Which included funneling more people into our bar that night than had ever been there.
We kept the doors to the patio open and had put up barriers to create a path where people could walk up to the bar for our special offerings of the night. Then the line would lead them back out onto the patio, or to the seating area of the bar if they wanted to stay there.
Part of me had worried when Ava first mentioned that we should team up with the other businesses and sell tickets to the event. Festivals and street fairs were huge, she assured me. They got massive attention, and people loved the atmosphere and immersive experience. I worried they would be angry about paying just to get access to the bar, only to have to pay for drinks and food when they were there.
I never should have worried. Making it into an event detailed right down to every business using the same custom themed napkins and offering cooperative experiences like a scavenger hunt made people rabid to come. It was even more exclusive now. Coming to the theme nights was turning into a status symbol, and now it was even more impressive.
I was having a blast wandering around keeping my eye on the entire thing. Until I saw the guys around Ava.
As much as I would have wanted to spend the entire evening by her side, that wasn’t an option. We were working, which meant all our attention had to be on the customers and making sure the night went by smoothly.
We were all motivated to make it the best it could be. But that meant I had to spend most of the evening away from Ava.
She started the night dressed in a classic pink poodle skirt and saddle shoes, serving up chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream and cherries, her hair in a high ponytail. She looked adorable, but halfway through the night, she changed into black leather pants, a tight black shirt, and a leather jacket. In place of the milkshakes, she served up mixed drinks and boozy ice cream. That was when she became irresistible.
I wanted to try to steal just a few moments with her, so I went to look for her. That was when I found her out in the street, offering some of the tiny one-bite appetizers we had on our menu to people enjoying the festival. She walked around the classic cars, giving out to the treats and pointing people in the direction of the bar. I was almost to her when a couple of guys walked up and started flirting with her.
To say just seeing it drove me a little nuts would be an understatement. The worst part was, from a distance, I couldn’t tell if she was flirting back or just dealing with it because it was part of the night. I tried to push it out of my mind, but it still bothered me. I was heading over to another of the displays when Ava was suddenly beside me.
I looked down at her and saw her smile.
“How’s the bar doing?” she asked.
“Really well,” I said. “Last I checked, Matt and Jesse were making drinks while Tyler was trying to handle the kitchen. He and Jesse keep switching back and forth. They had to stop selling wristbands because so many people were interested in coming.”
She grinned even wider. “That’s amazing.” She got up on her toes to kiss me, but I barely responded. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing,” I said.
“It’s obviously something,” she said. “Tell me.”
“I saw those guys flirting with you.”
She let out a sigh and shook her head. “It comes with the territory. And you shouldn’t ever worry. I only want you.”
I internally scolded myself for my unfounded jealousy. Just for good measure, I wrapped my arm around her waist again and pulled her in for another kiss. Just in case anybody happened to be watching. I wanted to make the situation as clear as possible.
From behind us, I heard a cheer. Pulling out of the kiss, I turned around and saw Stephanie a few feet away, her hands up in the air in celebration. Ava shook her head and laughed, resting her head forward in the center of my chest. When she lifted it again, she threw a look in Stephanie’s direction.
“Subtle,” she said.
“Sorry,” Stephanie said. “It’s just the two of you are so cute. I just can’t get over it. You two are adorable together, and I am just so happy for you.”
“Thank you,” Ava said. “I’m pretty happy for me, too.”
I laughed. “So am I.”
With that, we went back to work. Ava led Stephanie and her usual gaggle of followers to the bar, while I went to do another round through the other locations and the outdoor events. I wanted to keep up connection with the other business owners and the customers as much as possible. Having a good rapport with the other people in the area could do well for both of us.
As I went, I was able to relax and enjoy myself. I was no longer worried about the flirting. Ava was mine, and she was happy to let everybody know it.

Ava
I was still buzzing with excitement over the success of the classic-car night the next morning. I’d had a feeling people were going to enjoy it, but it went over even better than I could have imagined. The other businesses around the area were excited to be a part of the event with us. I had to imagine they’d heard about our theme nights and seen how much more business we were getting and were eager to get in on it.
The crowds were truly amazing, and by the end of the night, we had run out of all of the food and drink specials we planned. People laughed, asking when the next time we were going to have one of the festivals was and what the theme would be so they could start thinking about their costumes. That was on my mind the next morning as Mason drove me to work.
I’ve gotten very comfortably accustomed to riding to work with him in the morning and then home with him at night. It was a fantastic way to start the workday and something to look forward to during all those hours at the bar. Sometimes we just sat listening to music. Other times we talked about the things we overheard from the customers at the bar. That was always a fun conversation.
That morning, though, I was bubbling over with ideas for all the events we could have throughout the year. What that customer had said about trying to figure out what costumes they wanted to wear to the next theme night really stuck with me, inspiring a plan for another festival later in the year.
“Okay, just go with me on this one,” I said, trying to prep Mason for the idea that was getting bigger in my head by the second. “What about a Halloween theme night? I know it seems like it’s far away now, but it’s really not when you think about it. And how much fun would it be to do another festival like we just did but Halloween themed?”
“What did you have in mind?” he asked.
/> “Basically, like we did for the classic-car night, cooperating with the other bars and businesses. Closing down the street, but all one big Halloween party. For grown-ups. That’s the big part. It’s all going to have to be of-age people, just like our other events. But bring back all of the fun and exciting things about Halloween from when we were kids. When was the last time you had a caramel apple?”
Mason laughed. “A caramel apple?”
“Yeah. Like just an amazing apple covered with thick gooey caramel and like chocolate and nuts and sprinkles. All the good stuff. When is the last time you just sit down with one of those and ate it?” I asked.
“I have no idea,” Mason said. “When was the last time you did? It was probably the same time.”
That made my heart warm, and I couldn’t help but lean over and kiss him on the cheek.
“It probably was,” I said. “But my point is, there’s so many things that we’re told we’re not supposed to do now that we’re grown-ups that would be so much fun, and I think that people would really love to do it. I already know they want to dress up in costumes. Of course, that’s not all that unusual. A lot of people would take any excuse available to dress up in a costume. But it could be so much more.”
“What are we talking here? Like trick-or-treating?”
“Yes!” I said excitedly. “Just like we did the scavenger hunt during the classic-car night, we could do a trick-or-treating trail from place to place. But it wouldn’t have to just be regular candy. There could be something else. I’m not sure what, I will work on that. But fun themed desserts, drinks with gruesome names. Haunted areas. We may even be able to pillage the community theater and get some actors to play monsters.”
Mason laughed and looked over at me. “You’re really into this, aren’t you?”
“I am,” I said, then let out a breath and looked over at him. “Do you think it’s ridiculous? Have I totally gone off the deep end with this one?”
